For those visiting my site for the first time and know nothing about cadets but are interested
in this organization, it is a youth group from the ages of 12-19 from all across canada. In different cities across
our country there are more than 100 squadrons.
I am apart of the #11 RCA(air)CS in Lethbridge , Alberta. I am now starting my fourth
year at #11. Both of my brothers have gone through the movement and both graduated from the corps.
I can still remember the first day I walked through the doors at the armories. The night
i was to join. I remember that night as though it was yesterday, when in reality it was 3-4 years ago. I joined
on the one night when most of north america was in chaos September 11, 2001. That night will forever be apart
of my cadet history.
Since then I have moved on to learn new strategies to be a follower, then to be a leader.
I have been on two summer courses so far throughout my cadet career. Basic in 2002, and ITLC in 2004. Cadets is
just that... a career. As i was once told we are in the business of changing lives. So in a sense it is a job.
It is my job to take care of the younger cadets so that they can obtain the knowledge that they will need to excel in the
program.
